1. Using Snipboard
You may use Snipboard only if you can legally agree to these terms. If you use the app for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf. Snipboard is a solo productivity tool; version 1 does not provide collaboration, public publishing, or shared cloud workspaces.
2. License
Subject to these terms and successful payment, Snipboard grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-expiring license to install and use Snipboard for Mac on up to three Macs you own or control for lawful purposes. This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. You may deactivate one Mac and activate another, subject to the concurrent activation limit.
The advertised base price is $19 USD for new purchases. Applicable sales tax, VAT, or other charges may be calculated at checkout. Pricing may change for future purchasers without changing a completed license. Dodo Payments is the Merchant of Record and processes checkout, tax, receipts, refunds, and license delivery under the terms presented during purchase. A refund, chargeback, payment reversal, fraud determination, or other lawful revocation may disable the associated key.
Keep your license key private. You may not share, publish, transfer, or sell it; copy or distribute the app except as permitted by applicable law or an authorized distribution channel; rent, lease, sublicense, sell, or resell the app; bypass security or technical protections; or reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits that activity.
The purchase covers the Snipboard for Mac license described at checkout. It does not promise access to a different platform, separately sold product, or optional third-party service. Nothing here limits refund, cancellation, warranty, or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
3. Your Content remains yours
You retain your rights in Your Content. Snipboard does not claim ownership of your screenshots, annotations, thoughts, boards, connections, or exports. You give Snipboard only the limited permission needed to process Your Content on your device and, if you enable it, through your private iCloud database to provide the features you request.
You are responsible for Your Content, including its accuracy, legality, and any rights or permissions needed to capture, store, annotate, or export it.
4. Responsible screen capture
Screen Recording permission lets Snipboard capture user-selected pixels from a region, window, or display. It does not give you permission to capture someone else’s confidential, private, copyrighted, or regulated information.
Use capture features in accordance with applicable law, workplace policies, confidentiality duties, website terms, and the rights of other people. Review captures before sharing or exporting them, particularly when screens may contain credentials, personal information, or private communications.
5. OCR and intelligence suggestions
OCR, resurfacing, and Apple Intelligence features are tools to support your thinking. Their output may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for your situation. You decide whether to keep, edit, rely on, or discard a suggestion.
Do not treat an intelligence suggestion as professional, medical, legal, financial, or safety advice. Verify important information and exercise independent judgment. Snipboard does not silently rewrite your content or make decisions on your behalf.
6. Apple services and system features
Snipboard relies on macOS capabilities and may use Apple services such as ScreenCaptureKit, Vision OCR, Apple Intelligence, iCloud, and CloudKit. Those features may require compatible hardware, software, permissions, an Apple Account, network access, or available iCloud storage.
Your use of Apple services is also governed by Apple’s terms and privacy practices. Snipboard does not control their availability, performance, or changes. Version 1 does not integrate a third-party AI provider.
7. Availability, updates, and backups
Snipboard may add, modify, suspend, or retire features as the product develops. Operating-system changes can also affect capture, intelligence, sync, and other functionality. Updates may be required for continued compatibility or security.
Local-first does not mean loss-proof. Hardware failure, deletion, software defects, account changes, or sync conflicts can cause data loss. Keep independent exports or backups of anything important. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Mac, Apple Account, and iCloud storage.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Snipboard to violate law or another person’s rights; capture or distribute content without required permission; develop or distribute malware; interfere with the app, website, or related infrastructure; evade access controls; or misrepresent automated output as verified fact where doing so could cause harm.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Snipboard is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. This includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and data preservation.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Snipboard will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, business interruption, or the cost of substitute services, arising from or related to the app, website, intelligence output, or these terms.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid specifically for Snipboard during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or the minimum amount required by applicable law. These limits apply only to the extent permitted by law.
11. Ending your use
You may stop using Snipboard at any time and uninstall the app. Export content you wish to keep before deleting local app data or disabling services. Provisions that by their nature should survive—such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability—remain in effect after your use ends.
12. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated as Snipboard changes. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes may also be communicated in the app when appropriate. Continuing to use Snipboard after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement governing your use of Snipboard.
Questions can be sent through the Snipboard terms contact.
